Hottest regions in Greece in June

June marks the beginning of the peak holiday season, as the temperatures finally reach that perfect hotness. One of the most popular destinations for the season in Europe is Greece and its islands. As such, for the summer lovers among you, we decided to check which parts of Greece are the hottest in June.

Which part of Greece is the hottest in June?

For starters, let’s preface everything by saying that Greece in June is already very hot all throughout its land. You can expect an average of about 30°C pretty much anywhere. If you go further north, you may encounter a bit more rain than in the south or on the islands, but it’s still very negligible amounts.

If you want it really, really, really hot, though, we’d say that the two main hubs you can look at are the island of Kos and the south of mainland Greece, with Athens as your guide in particular. Both Kos and Athens reach an average of 31°C by the end of the month. Meanwhile, the usual suspects of Crete and Rhodes only reach about 28-29°C. Not like you’ll be needing a coat in any of these, as the difference is very minor. All of these options will be splendid.

Night temperatures tend to stay uniform in all of the aforementioned places at 21°C average, only getting a tad colder in the north of Greece. As such, you can totally stay outside until late and enjoy a nice evening walk along the coastline.

Water temperatures in Greece in June

As you can imagine, the sea doesn’t fluctuate that much between the various regions of Greece either. In June, you can already expect the water to reach 22°C, which is already very pleasant (though not as pleasant as the 25°C in August).

No matter where you go, Greece is a very hot region in summer, both the mainland and the islands. As such, we’d advise you don’t fret too much about the weather and go for whatever seems like the most fun for you. We hope you’ll love it just as much as we did!
