Though most tourists come to the Czech Republic for Prague, it’s also a country with some incredible natural sites, like the mountains covered by the Sky Bridge 721 or the Adršpach-Teplice rocks. If you’d like to visit the City of Rocks yourself, we’ll go over the basics today: what they are, where you can find them and what it will cost you. Let’s take a look!
Adršpach-Teplice Rocks
The rocks are the central point of the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks Nature Reserve located near the municipalities of Adršpach and Teplice, hence the name, in the Hradec Králové region (central north). The whole reserve takes up over 17 km square of space.
The magnificent rock formations are actually sandstone formed roughly 89 million years ago. This area was effectively a sea multiple times in the past, leaving behind sediment every time the sea withdrew. It consisted of sand and clay in most, eventually merging into sandstone over many, many centuries, moulded by rain, frost and wind.
Today, though every rock formation here is a gem of its own, the notable sights are: the Gothic Gate, the Great Waterfall (16 metres tall!) and the tallest rock formation, the Lovers, reaching over 81 metres. Tickets
Tickets for the Adršpach-Teplice Rocks Nature Reserve have three price variants depending on which season we’re looking at. The prices also vary depending on whether we’re buying them online or at the ticket office. Children under 3 years old can enter for free. Dogs are allowed, though you’ll need to buy your pup a ticket.

- Regular tickets:
- Peak season: 200 CZK at the ticket office, from 130 CZK online
- High season: 180 CZK at the ticket office, from 120 CZK online
- Low season: 130 CZK at the ticket office, from 110 CZK online
- Reduced tickets:
- Peak season: 170 CZK at the ticket office, from 100 CZK online
- High season: 150 CZK at the ticket office, from 90 CZK online
- Low season: 100 CZK at the ticket office, from 80 CZK online
- Family tickets
- Peak season: 580 CZK at the ticket office, from 370 CZK online
- High season: 520 CZK at the ticket office, from 340 CZK online
- Low season: 370 CZK at the ticket office, from 310 CZK online

The peak season is July and August. The high season includes April, May, June, September and October. Low season is from November till the end of March. The reduced ticket includes children between 3-15, students up to 26, people with disabilities and seniors over 65. Family tickets can include up to 2 adults and up to 2 children between 3 and 15 years old.

The site is open daily from 8am to 6pm.
