Temperatures in May on Crete

Weather conditions are usually top priority for low season holidays anywhere in the world. What can you expect from Crete?

Certainly enough warmth to be satisfied. On average, you can expect about 23°C during the day, though temperature spikes to even 29°C (as on the 16th of May in 2023) are not unheard of. At night, temperatures drop to 17°C, so still decent enough for an evening walk.

What about the sea? It’s still nowhere as warm as it’ll be in the summer but you can expect 19-20°C. It’s not hot but you can certainly hop in for a short moment.
