Mediterranean countries are a greatly popular choice for the beginning of the holiday season, as their temperatures tend to be most favourable. Water temperatures in Crete in July
July is, as you may imagine, even warmer. While air temperatures basically don’t go below 30°C, the sea sits at a pleasant 24°C, making long bathing a lot more sensible than in May or June. It doesn’t really get warmer in August, so this is as warm as you’ll get here.
Be sure to stay safe amidst the heat, as it can get very extreme in Greece – drink plenty of water, use a strong sunscreen and bring a hat with you!
