The island of Kos is said to be Greece in a nutshell. This is because it contains all that makes Greece so precious – magnificent landscapes, incredible monuments, rich culture and great weather. If you’re planning a holiday trip there and you’re an avid beach enthusiast, you may want to know how warm the water’s going to be in June and July. We’ll go over exactly that today.

If you’re going to Kos, temperatures of any kind are certainly the last thing you have to worry about. Unless you don’t like them very high, that is. In June, the sea is already at 22°C. And you’re going to need it as refreshment, for air temperatures in the summer here don’t really go below 30°C.

July gets even warmer, with air temperatures averaging at 33°C and sometimes getting very, very close to that 40°C mark. As for the waters, you can expect a slight boost, up to about 24°C. It’s not that big a difference but you will still feel it. It gets a tiny bit warmer in August too, up to 25°C.
All throughout summer, waters near Kos are very pleasant, warm and clear. This is quite preferred, as 70% of the coastline of Kos is sandy beaches, so it’s quite a central element to holidays on the island. We’d especially recommend checking out the lovely Camel Beach, Marmari Beach and Lambi Beach.
