What Electrical Sockets in Portugal. Travel Adaptor for Portugal

Renting a room equipped with tools like an iron, a hairdryer or a vacuum cleaner is not entirely unheard of these days. In general, lot of the mid to high end rooms tend to be armed with all sorts of necessary electronic devices. Still, pretty much every tourist will have something electronic that they will have to find a socket for. So, what sockets does Portugal use? Does the UK standard G-type plug pass the test?

Sadly, it does not. Portugal uses type F (also usable with C type plugs), fit for most European countries. If you are using type G, typical for pretty much every plug in the UK, you will have to arm yourself with an adapter. You can buy one in your local area or in Portugal, as most of the bigger souvenir shops should have a G – F adapter.

Thankfully, we do not need a voltage converter, as Portugal uses the classic 230 V 50 HZ standard.
