October is already an out-of-season month, meaning a large number of people plan their trips at this time, hoping for lower prices and no crowds. Situation in Prague is no different – though it’s no southern Europe and we can’t expect tropical heat, we’d still prefer it if it could be at least mildly warm. Well, is it? Today, we’ll go over what temperatures you can expect in Prague in October.
Prague in October
Though Prague in November is already quite cold, October is, thankfully, a different story. The beginning of October shows an average of 16°C during the day and 7°C during the night. In 2023, for instance, the beginning of the month commonly exceeded 20°C with highs reaching 25°C.
It does get quite a bit colder by the end of the month, though, down to about 10°C average during the day and 3°C during the night. As such, you should certainly bring some extra layers with you for the end of the month, though the beginning may end up being very pleasant.
October rain
Apart from temperatures, we can also look at the rest of the forecast. We can expect about 7 days of rain in Prague in October, so not too bad, though an umbrella would be recommended. Days are also decently long still, at 11 hours of daylight.
The beginning of October can be a great time to catch some of the last warm days of the year in Prague and enjoy the city with far fewer tourists than you’d see in summer. You’ll still need to pack some extra sweaters, though it’s a small price to pay for Prague.
