Is there Uber in Turkey?

Planning a more lively nightlife in Turkey but you’re worried how you’ll get back to the hotel while in a debatably alive condition? Does Uber work in Turkey? Sadly, we have to settle for a yes and no.

Uber in Turkey

There’s nothing quite like the convenience of Uber, though the Turkish government doesn’t seem to endorse it all that much, as it has strict regulations for any transport companies.

Uber is available, yes, but only in select few parts of Turkey and is heavily restricted in its operation. You can find Uber taxis in Istanbul, for instance. And yes, we say taxis, because Uber drivers must be taxi drivers and have cars which look the part. Uber is, as such, no different from a taxi in Istanbul, especially given that the rates are regulated by the regions.

Uber in Turkey is not available in Antalya, Izmir, and other popular resorts on the Turkish Riviera. Sadly, it’s mainly available in Istanbul and Ankara (and a few other cities, which you can check here).

What app replacements for Uber should you choose in Turkey? Try BiTaksi and iTaksi. Lyft is unfortunately not currently available in Turkey.
