Are waters warm in August?
Water temperatures in the Azores
In August, as tends to be the case, waters get even warmer, as they can reach even 25 degrees Celsius. Usually, though, you will experience around 23°C – 24°C and this is the average temperature for the term. The water is very warm and pleasant, so this is the best time to go swimming on the island. Unfortunately, if you are used to the temperature of the Mediterranean in the summer months, you may find it difficult to adapt at first :). It’s not quite the same. The views should make up for everything though.
