How much do Czech motorway vignettes cost in 2024?

If you’re planning on a single trip or multiple visits to Czechia via the motorway, you may need a vignette. How much do vignettes cost in 2024? Where can you find them? All of that today.

Motorway vignettes in the Czech Republic

If you’re not familiar, the Czech Republic uses vignettes for vehicles with four or more wheels which weigh up to 3.5 tonnes if they intend to use the motorway sections which are subject to a toll. You can find motorway vignettes valid for 10 days, 30 days or a year. Nowadays, you can buy a vignette electronically. The way it works is that you provide your license plate number when buying a ticket – then, control checks scan your license plate to see whether there’s a vignette purchased for the given plate number. If so, all’s good. If not, then you may face a fine of up to 20,000 CZK (about 700 pounds). You may also be subject to a check, so have a pdf at the ready.

Where can I buy them?

You can buy them online here. As we’ve said, you have three options:

  • 10-day: 310 CZK (10 pounds)
  • 30-day: 440 CZK (15 pounds)
  • Year: 1,500 CZK (50 pounds)

If your vehicle is powered by natural gas/biomethane (not LPG), then you have a 50% discount:

  • 10-day: 155 CZK (5 pounds)
  • 30-day: 220 CZK (7.5 pounds)
  • Year: 750 CZK (25 pounds)

There are plans to introduce a 1-day vignette in 2024, though it’s still not here yet. You can also purchase vignettes at given sales points or a self-service kiosk which are typically located near the borders (though you pretty much buy it in the same way as you would online, so no reason not to do it prior). You can find more information about the sales points here
