How many days do you need in Valencia?

If you’re planning a holiday in Valencia, the most crucial step of said planning is deciding on how many days you’ll commit to a trip. We’ll try to help you with that in today’s post, as we’ll go over how much you’ll be able to see in Valencia in a day, two days and three days respectively.

Of course, we cannot provide you with a definitive answer to the question in the title. Every tourist has a different way of exploring and a different pace too. All we can do is show you what you can see in a given amount of days and you’ll need to figure out what suits you best. Before we start, a few small tips:

  • You don’t need to hire a car to get around Valencia, your own feet and the occasional public transport will do just fine
  • If you want to save time, we recommend booking entry tickets in advance whenever you can
  • You can also buy the Valencia Tourist Card to save time on travel and museum tickets

Valencia in a day

1 dzień Walencja

A circular tour of Valencia’s main attractions right around the centre won’t take you long – a 90-minute walk is enough to see all the essential spots like:

  • La Lonja de Seda,
  • Plaza de la Virgen,
  • Mercado Central,
  • Palacio del Marqués de Dos Aguas,
  • Iglesia de San Nicolás de Bari y San Pedro Mártir de València,
  • Torres de Serranos,
  • Catedral de València

Of course, this only includes just passing by these places without entering them. You can add another hour’s walk to get to the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. Additionally, you pay a visit to the neighbourhood right by the park surrounding the centre, full of modern architectural works.

Valencia in two days

2 dni Walencja

With two days in Valencia, you can already see a lot – you will actually have the time to enter some of the attractions, for example. You can also take a walk through the Valencian plantations in the Turia Gardens – a park in the former riverbed of the Turia River. Or you could go to Valencia’s beach and relax in the sunshine. Of course, more time on your hands also means more time which you can spend on experiencing Valencian cuisine, and that’s invaluable.

Valencia in three days

3 dni Walencja

What about a full weekend in Valencia? In addition to everything we listed above, you can also head to one of the nearby charming towns. The nearby town of Requena, for instance, less than 45 miles from the centre of Valencia, or Sagunto, 22 miles to the north.

You will also have enough time for lazy strolls along Valencia and its Cuitat Vella or Eixample.

How many days do you need in Valencia?

Valencia is a city full of things to do, but if you don’t have that much free time, then you can certainly see most of the notable places in 2-3 days. It’s an optimal amount of time if you don’t mind rushing a bit, though you can certainly find enough to see and do for 5 to 7 days if you have the spare time. If you do, you can also see the plethora of beaches and lovely small towns around Valencia, a treat you can’t give yourself if you’re on a 1-2 day plan.

One day is very limiting, as we’ve discussed, but it will give you a gist of the Valencian centre if that’s all you care about – still, we would really advise you try to squeeze out at least two days.
