Water temperatures in Lanzarote in July and August, will you find warm waters there?

Thinking of holidays in Lanzarote, July and August, but not sure whether the local waters will be warm enough for you? Or perhaps you’ve already decided, your flight is booked but you’re not having doubts? We’ll fix that for you right away, as today’s post will go over what water temperatures you can expect in Lanzarote in July and August.

Water temperatures in July

The swimming season lasts pretty much the whole year in Lanzarote. Though winters in Lanzarote have ideal air temperatures for holidays, its waters do get a bit colder than in summer – still warm enough for a nice refreshing swim though. July, of course, is a lot better in this regard.

The Atlantic waters sit around 22 degrees Celsius in July. It’s not the warmest, but it’s certainly enough for relaxing short swims and you should take advantage of it while it lasts, for it won’t get much warmer in the following months. Most tourists certainly do, as the coasts get very crowded. No wonder, given how stunning the turquoise waters are in Lanzarote, even if your limbs do go a bit numb after a longer swim. 🙂

Water temperatures in August

The average water temperatures in Lanzarote go up to 22-23 degrees Celsius in August, with a possible margin of a degree plus or minus depending on your exact location on the coast. As such, it’s the same deal as with July – slightly cool, but good enough for most. If you’re looking for the best time to bathe in Lanzarote, these two months have got your back.
