What’s the weather like in Prague in November?

Out-of-season trips are becoming more and more popular as people realise it’s a way to avoid the main crowds and find slightly lower prices. November, typically the beginning of the proper cold season, sounds like a great time to avoid all of the tourist craze. If you’d like to visit Prague at that time of year, what weather can you expect there? Just how cold is it? Today, we’ll look at exactly that.

Prague in November

Prague is not quite a southern European country, so we sadly can’t expect temperatures akin to Greece, Italy or Cyprus. Average day temperatures in November begin at around 9°C at the beginning of the month and drop all the way down to around 4°C average by the end. Of course, this doesn’t mean that days with 10-15°C don’t happen, though they are very rare. Simultaneously, in 2023, the end of November already saw 0°C. Nights are also very, very cold already, at 2°C average throughout the month.

It goes without saying you’ll need to pack quite a few extra layers. Czechia is no escape route from the cold. If you don’t mind that, however, then you’re sure to find some extra space from all the tourists who do mind.

Rain in Prague

Apart from temperatures, we can also look at rainfall and daylight. November typically sees about 8 rainy days, so not too catastrophic. You can certainly find a week with little to no rain with a bit of luck. Days are getting shorter fast, down to 9 hours of daylight. As such, if rain and cold does not scare you in the slightest, then November will be just fine for you. If you are looking for an escape from the cold, perhaps seek somewhere else: perhaps Spain, Portugal or Cyprus
