The Real Alcazar is an early medieval palace, dating back to the 11th century. It was built in the Arabic style, initially within the sphere of influence of the Cordoban Caliphate. Its major expansion took place in the 14th century, after the recovery of Seville by the Christians. The site is of exceptional importance not only for the history of Spain, but the rest of the world as well – it was where Magellan’s expedition was decided upon, and where Columbus, returning from America, was received by the contemporary royal couple.

Real Alcazar in Seville – ticket prices for the basic tour (ground floor):

  • Normal ticket – €13.50
  • Discounted ticket for senior citizens over 65 from the European Union – €6
  • Pupils, students and those with a youth card (valid for EU citizens aged 14 to 30) – €6
  • Disabled persons, residents of the city of Seville and children under the age of 13 can visit the site free of charge (upon providing valid identification at the ticket office)

Real Alcazar in Seville – ticket prices for the basic tour (ground floor) and the Royal Bedroom

  • Normal ticket – €19
  • Discounted ticket for seniors over 65 – €11.50
  • Pupils, students and EU youth card holders – €11.50
  • Disabled persons, residents of the city of Seville and children under the age of 13 – €5.50 (same identification procedure as with the basic tour)

However, vital to mention, the basic tour of the site is free every Monday within specified hours: from April to September, 6:00pm to 7:00pm, and from October to March, 4:00pm to 5:00pm, to be exact. For those of you interested in the Royal Bedroom, you’ll still have to pay the €5.50 surcharge.
