Guide to airports in Sardinia

Would you like to go to Sardinia, but you’re not sure which airport to choose? Don’t fret, we’ll go over the options you have so you can make a more informed choice!

Cagliari Elmas Airport/Mario Mameli

The Cagliari Airport is the most popular and largest airport in Sardinia, with nearly 5 mln passengers in 2019. It’s located just 2.5 miles west of Cagliari itself, the capital and the largest city in Sardinia. You’ll find many duty-free shops here, 11 restaurants and about 29 total facilities around the airport. Of course, you can’t really do proper shopping here, but it’s not like you’d necessarily want to. You’ll find luggage storage facilities and an ATM. You’ll find most flights routing to Cagliari Elmas, otherwise known as Mario Marmeli.

1) Cagliari Airport – Elmas
2) Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport
3) Alghero Airport – Fertilia

All airports in Sardinia will serve you well, it’s merely a matter of which one is closest to your preferred destination. Sardinia has so few and they’re spread out far enough from each other to where you really just choose the closest one (or the one offering cheapest flights at the time).
