Thinking of going to Tenerife, but you’re not sure whether its waters will be warm enough? It’s only natural, no one likes their limbs going numb after a longer bath. In today’s post we’ll go over just what water temperatures you can expect in Tenerife in July and August and whether there’s any room for doubt on if you’ll find waters warm enough.

Water temperatures in July

Tenerife’s weather stays so great all year round that one would want a swimming season for 12 months a year. But does its air temperature also take care of the waters?

The water temperature in Tenerife in July is between 20°C and 23°C. The average temperature is around 21 degrees Celsius, depending on where you beach. The water is a little chilly, but certainly good enough for a quick swim.

Water temperatures in August

The water is slightly warmer in August, but it is still not the best month in regards to raw water temperature. The minimum water temperature in Tenerife in August is around 21°C and the maximum is 24°C. This is quite ideal for some bathing to cool off on hot days.

Be mindful, however, that the Canaries are subject to quite strong winds at times which can ruin the swims at times.
