Christmas Markets in Trento are usually held in two places: Piazza Fiera and Piazza Cesare Battisti. There are loads of stalls with food, mulled wine, chestnuts, crafts and souvenirs. It’s a festival of colours, beautiful lights and, of course, the Christmas atmosphere. A good place to take a break between sledding on the slopes of the nearby Italian mountains.
When is the Christmas market in Trento?
It’s customary for Christmas markets to open somewhere mid-November and last until the beginning of January – such is the case with Bolzano and Vipiteno. Trento is no different – the market opens on the 18th of November and ends on the 7th of January 2024. As such, you’ve got quite a wide window to visit the market.

Opening times
The market is open from Monday to Sunday, from 10am to 7:30pm. On the 24th and 31st of December, the market will close at 6pm to allow people to celebrate. On the 25th of December, the markets are closed.
