Which river flows through Verona in Italy?

Verona is one of the more interesting cities in Italy, though perhaps not as well known as some of the other staples. As such, you may not be familiar with the details – like, for instance, which river flows through the city. Today, we’ll briefly answer that. If you need it for a crossword, we’ve got your back too.

Verona, like most notable cities in the world, has developed thanks to its location on a river. Which river is it? Verona is located on the Adige River. It’s the second longest stream in Italy, at 250 miles, right after the Po River (at 405 miles). Its basin is equally massive, at 12,100 km2. One of the most beautiful sites in the city of Verona, the Ponte Pietra Bridge and its promenade, is built around the river.

Adige also flows by Trentino, Veneto, Rovereto and Adria until it reaches the Adriatic Sea.
