How warm is the Adriatic Sea?

Southern Europe, which the Adriatic Sea proudly sits in the middle of, is a great area full of ideal holiday destinations. For those of you who may be interested in Albania, Croatia or Italy, you may want to know what temperatures you can expect in the sea there. How warm is the Adriatic Sea? Warm enough for long, pleasant baths?

 

Is the Adriatic Sea warm?

The Adriatic Sea forms in the northern part of the Mediterranean Sea and separates the Balkan peninsula from the Apennine Peninsula. Countries that have access to the Adriatic Sea include Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia, Albania and Montenegro.

The waters in early spring are quite chilly, but May already gets close enough to those summer standards that you may be able to enjoy a short (very refreshing!) swim.
