Teatro alla Scala: ticket prices in 2023/2024

La Scala (Teatro alla Scala) in Milan is one of the most famous opera houses in the world. Its historic building is located in Milan’s famous Piazza Della Scala. The opera house regularly hosts performances for more than 2,000 audience members. If you’re planning on visiting Milan, you may be wondering how much such a prestigious place may cost. Fret not, as we’ll go over exactly that today.

How much do tickets to Teatro alla Scala cost?

To answer this question, we have to underline that you can either visit Teatro alla Scala during the performances or just for a tour of the opera house. Let’s firstly examine the cheaper option: the tours. You can buy a regular admission ticket for €12. This includes audio-guide tours (including a special one for children) which you can find on their free app. Of course, you can’t enter when any performances or events are on-going. There are also reduced versions of the ticket for students (over 12), seniors (over 65) and for families. You can find the tickets here

Guided tours of Teatro alla Scala

If you’d like to get the most of your visit to Teatro alla Scala, it’s worth considering a guided tour of the theatre. For a tour in English, you’ll currently pay €30,00 (plus service fee). It includes both the tour guide and the visit to the Royal box and many other historical boxes and stalls. If you are considering a guided tour, do make sure to book it well in advance, as they are quite limited. You can find the English tour here

The guided tours typically last 60 minutes. You can also opt for an exclusive guided tour for 1-10 participants only which lasts 90 minutes. It’s, naturally, a lot more pricey: €500 for 1-5 participants and €1,000 for 5-10. If you’re above the mortal realm and that sounds like your jam, go here.

Opening hours of Teatro alla Scala

Again, you also cannot enter when any shows are taking place. In case you’d like to double-check whether our information is still correct, you can do so here

Where can you buy tickets for Teatro alla Scala?

You can do so on the official website of the opera house, here. This is also where you can look for any events currently going on, the second way of visiting Teatro alla Scala, though do expect the prices to be quite steep.
