Albania is already becoming quite a popular tourist destination and the best way to get to it is via a plane. As such, many of you may find yourself at the airport with no clue how to get to the centre. Don’t fret, we’ll assist you by going over the options you have.
Buses from the Tirana International Airport to the city centre
Getting from the airport to the Tirana centre
If you’re wondering what’s your cheapest option, then it’s certainly the bus. There’s a service called Rinas Express that runs from the airport to the city centre. Ths bus leaves every hour, every day – courses leaving from the airport take place between 6 am and 1 am, while those starting in the city centre (Rinas Airport Stop near Skanderbeg Square) runs from 7 am to 2 am. Buses depart from the bus stop south of the terminal at the airport, left of the exit outside the aviation building.
The bus itself will cost you €4 for the whole route and it takes between 30 to 40 minutes.
Taxis from the Tirana International Airport to the city centre
How much does a taxi cost in Albania?
If you’re looking for a more convenient, albeit pricier, way to get to the city centre, you can always choose a taxi. Their stop is located directly in front of the arrivals hall.
The price of such a service is around €20-25 for the journey which takes about 20 minutes. Importantly, the courses run 24/7, so if you miss the time frame for a bus, taxis have got your back.
Now that you know what to expect, we hope the landing will be a bit less stressful for you. Happy holidays! 🙂
